Describe this "notch" in more detail.
It should have an oil hole, but no other deviations from "round".

Right, no "notches", should be a perfect cylinder...
The front one should actually have 2 oil holes. There are of course 5 cam bearings, of 3 part numbers: #1 is unique, #2 & #5 are one part, and #3 & #4 are another.

This is the 1st cam bearing. I see the oil holes. but this notch looks like a PERFECT small cut out on the outside of the bearing about a 16th deep and anout 1/8 high. on the drivers side. This mark was there when i pulled the old cam out and I inspected the cam and the cam looks perfect. I installed the new cam already in hopes this is normal.

Ive seen that before, is It a V shape cut out, about this size ( .V. )? I cant remember which bearings they were or if I even looked but I personaly wouldent want it there. From what Im thinking it's put there to retain more oil. But the engine I saw it on had all the bearings cut that way.
