powermax cam
I have a stock 84 trans am with 305 H.O. Would the crane PowerMax 2030 be worth putting in my car? Will I be able to pass emissions with this cam? I plan on getting a better exhaust in the future, if that helps any. Thanks for the help in advance

That powermax cam is very close in specs to the 305HO
factory cam. Unless yours is worn out, you won't see much difference. Until you improve the airflow (heads, exhaust, intake)
and raise compression, swapping cams will not give you big results and may slow you down. I'd work on these areas first.

The HO already has 9.5:1 compression.
The 2030 does have more lift than the L69 cam. But, it probably wouldn't be a big improvement, like 'Bird says.
You would probably see more improvement with headers. Then heads. You'll see the most improvement, obviously, if you do headers & 3" all the way back, heads, and cam.
Emissions shouldn't be a problem.
I've said it a bunch of times already, but I love the way mine runs. I attribute a lot of that to the cam, but the rest does let the cam do its thing.

Yeah, I kinda figured it will work the best with other mods. Maybe later I'll get the 2040, would that be a good one?
