Looking for some input on a build.
Looking for some input on a build.
These are just parts I have.
350 block 4"bore
Lunti cam 10120100
193 heads
And '90 tpi
Pick it apart. Lol this is my first post along with first build. These are the parts I have available.
I have some higher compression pistons. Not sure how much more over flat. Really wanted to see what this combo will do, not including the pistons.

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Port your tpi system. Get a set of ported corvette heads.
Or, better yet, get a vortec tpi base, port it and get some vortec heads. Headers are a must, 1 3/4. primaries 3" back. 2200-2400 stall torque converter,
My guess is that it should make around 300-320 hp at the crank, maybe 350, depending on tune and what route you go with the top end. So, 24-27lb injectors depending on the power that it ends up having.

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Should of added that. Tpi base is ported. And running headman long tube headers.( 1 -7/8's to a 3 inch collector, I forget the part number) Stock runners an throttle body at the moment. I just dropped the block off at the machine shop today, so still exploring options. But this is what I have at the moment lol
Although I'd like to try them. I don't want the vortec heads. Kinda just running what I have (with the exception of the heads) not sure if I'll keep them if I can find a set of l98's
Edit: for got to add, I have 28lb injectors
Edit again lol: I had true duals, 2.5 dumped at the rear axle on the 305. Not so funny story, vin decodes l98. Block casting determined that was not the case. Planning on running the two to a y then 3 inch single out the rear. I scrapped everything with duals. Lol

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
That looks alright, but your heads are going to be the problem. If no vortec, I'd snag a cheap set of 113 heads, and have them worked over, or if you are patient I've seen ported 113s go for 500-600 bucks shipped for the pair.
I'd bet you'd knock at around 320-330 hp at the crank. Might be good for 260-280 whp.
Not a bad budget build at all.

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Yeah man, put an add up in the parts wanted section here and on the corvette forms for clean or ported 113 heads. Ebay is a ripoff. I think you'd do well with that. You might want a tune after the fact. I'm finding it very hard to find a place around here that will do a tune for under 1000$, but my build NEEDS a tune.
Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Might do that. I've been lurking the forums here for a little over a year since I got the camaro. Decided to finally join up. I've been reading about burning proms here. I had one made long before I took it off the road for the 305 to 350 swap and the cam. Tuning plays a massive roll. And I can't afford another 1k lol so figured I'd try it out. Thought about a stand alone ecu, but think I'll give the oem computer a go first. At least learn it for now.
And anything over 100 bucks I really don't trust ebay. Heads are already sketchy. There u can't tell if they are straight, cracked or anything...

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Step the cam up one size for the 350. That grind you listed would be better suited to a 305.

Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Just as a friendly tip. On one of my 87 Irocs I bought a new tci breakaway 2400 converter and it stalls same as the stock one. I put it in the car and it made Zero difference. If you happen to buy a converter stay away from Tci or the cheaper converters. I'm sure some guys have had good luck w their more expensive converters like a 10 inch but. $300 for the converter plus $300 to install with no results hurts. good luck with your build
Re: Looking for some input on a build.
Thanks. I know the most lift with the 193 heads are at 450. Close with that cam@ 444.. The Lunti cam I have was in my buddy's build he had like 5k miles or so then he wanted more.
Re: Looking for some input on a build.
How it looked when I got it.

Tint and doors. Not a fan of shaved handles lol

Before I tore it down to swap and rebuild.

Currently sitting.
Tpi. Probably not going to keep the bright ford blue
