1988 firebird formula 5.0 tbi rpm needle jumps
OK, I just brought the car back out of storage. Before it was parked had no issue. Battery was dead for a couple months. The car is running absolutely fine prior. But for some reason the RPM needle is jumping like crazy at idle only. When it's running fine, and not idle surging. Even hooked up to a scanner. Idle is around 700. I unplug a random vacuum line. And has higher idle. But doesn't jump around. Is my rpm gauge messed up. Because the last thing I did for the issue arrived originally, was I replaced the distributor. And followed instructions. Any information for me? Anything will help, seriously.

A jumpy tach is typically caused by an issue in the secondary side of the ignition system.

Burned plug wire could be possible, but I have those metal sleeves covering the plug wire boots. And I got them routed so they don't even come close to touching the exhaust. I could double check. But they are so hard to put them on. But these are all good checks. I'm gonna be busy once I get home.
