Gapping plugs

I heard somewhere that if you increase the gaps on your plugs you could squeeze a few more horsepower out. just wondering if this made any sense and if so how much would you increase it????

i think if you make the gap on yer plugs any bigger than it is recomended u need to increase our voltage in order to compensate for the spark having the travel the extra distance. might need better ignition, not sure though

If the ignition system can handle it, it can help. Cutting back the electrode can add a few hp too. Both ideas IMO are kinda silly for a daily driver, not enough return for what possible problems there are.
