Best intake manifold for 305

Hey guys im building my 305 tbi and i want to swap the stock intake manifold for something that will give more power. I already have L98 corvette heads and i might go for a bigger tbi or even carburetor. I know the stock manifold doesnt do too well with flow. Any thoughts on best intake manifold to gain power?

Re: Best intake manifold for 305

Have you upgraded your exhaust yet? Headers, Y pipe and cat back? If not, do that 1st. With stock cam, stock heads, etc the intake is not that bad, but the exhaust is a major choke point.

If you do want to change the intake and stick with TBI, it is cheaper to buy a carb intake and a carb to TBI adapter plate. Edelbrock performer intake with a mild 305 is about right.

ive got all that, performance cam, corvette heads, full exaust and even bored the engine slightly. The only choke point left is my intake and tbi.

Oh ok, cool deal. Edelbrock performer or performer RPM with a carb to TBI adapter plate.

performer RPM with a carb to TBI adapter plate
^^^ This ^^^

For what little difference it's gonna make; the Perf won't really change anything.

Make sure you get one of the adapters that doesn't move the TB front-to-rear on the pad: some of them move it so far forward that the stock throttle cable, fuel lines, etc. don't reach.

Re: Best intake manifold for 305

as stated a carb intake to tbi. ultimate tbi mods. as sofa said dont move the TB at all. leave it be and find a centered adapter or make one. id mention things as far as the TBI itself but i dont recall if the 305 ones are smaller than a 350 or what not.
