Light Gas Odor by Tank
Light Gas Odor by Tank
Hi - my 89 TA sometimes has a light gas odor by the drivers rear quarter at the gas fill....I have a new GM cap on it. Are these tanks prone to cracks I cant see easily? Ideas, thoughts? Car basically running fine. Bone stock 305 TBI, idles at around 500 (always seems low to me but is what it is I am told)

Sometimes the filler neck is prone to cracking. Especially when you have to remove it for a fuel pump swap.

My aftermarket spectra tank has a split at the filler neck too. Sadly it's far too common.
JB weld is holding while I figure out a new tank solution.
