What could be causing my car to jerk while I'm cruising.

you've got to describe it better than that... The more info about the problem, the better.
What is a jerk?
How fast are you going when it happens?
Am I annoying?

 

What transmission do you have?
Automatic or manual?
Does the car miss or stumble in park or neutral?
These may help to suggest some tips.

 

Just off the top of my head....check the O2 Sensor and possibly look into getting another cat converter with that too. I dont know much about how much all this would cost to have done but thats what was wrong with mine. It started just fine...started jerking..stops when i pushed in the clutch..doesnt do it much in higher gears but dont drive it when its like that ok...
