It COULD work if the drive dowel pin is replaced with the longer one required by the LT1.
However, why would you install what is basically a stock Y-Body cam? If it's free, you would lose nothing other than the gaskets, fluids, and your time. However, a better choice for a basically stock LT1 might be the Comp 266HR-14, and even that is fairly mild but will require clearance checks for seals and coil bind.
Moreover, new springs and decent rockers will improve the installed performance of any cam installed, even the stock grind.
What kind of modifications are or will be done? Is this aluminum or iron-headed?
