firing order 2000 Chevy 305 in boat
Is there any benefit to switch firing order of 18436572 on my 305 Chevy in my boat (year 2000) to this alternate of 18726543; or is it not doable without changing camshaft, etc?

No benefit. And yes, it would require changing the camshaft.

I have a few vehicles with SBCs which have been called "boats" so there is a thin connecting line here...
The only measurable benefit to changing the firing order in a marine installation is to change to 12756348, install that engine in the right side of the transom to counteract the "normal" engine on the left side of the transom.

I thought the 307 was a boat, not the 305.
If you do have the dual engines, they're usually BBC.
