Check engine light

I have a 1983 Camaro z28 lg4 I just installed headers on. The check engine light is on and I'm almost positive it's o2 sensor but when I put the key in on position (engine off) jump the top right two terminals with paper clip it doesnt go into the mode where it flashes. I tried paper clip, thick and thin, stripped a wire, stripped speaker wire etc. I put it in, wiggled, sprayed a little wd40. Nothing. Any info will help. Randy

Re: Check engine light

Did you put an O2 sensor back in? If not, start there before even messing with reading codes. Fix what you already know you effed up before attempting to troubleshoot any further.
