PASS system
Can anyone explain to me the PASS system as installed in camaros? I am hoping to buy a 1991 RS Camaro that has got no keys and no ECU! (No engine or gearbox either!!). Will the replacement ECU need matching in to the new key?

No, the ECU doesn't care. It get a "go" signal from the passkey module once it senses a valid ignition key. The passkey modual is about the size of two packs of cigs side by side behind the centermost dash deeply buried.
the passkey module must match the key for it to work. You could of course tell the ECU not to look for passkey if you burn a new chip.
