I must see a post about the ticking noise on TPI engines at least once a month hehe . Although, I'd hate to say it's normal and you end up having a collapsed lifter , I'm 99% sure it's those loud injectors. They are noisy.

My car has 30 something thousand orig miles on it... i got scared of that ticking noise also. But, IT IS DEFINITLY THE INJECTORS. Put your ear near em, those sob's click loud. Put your finger on em... you can feel the pulses corresponding with the clicking. NOw, this could also be a valve tapping and many other things, but nah, don't worry. IT is only the loud injectors.
