Re: New roller lifters old cam

Is the cam designed for hydraulic roller lifters?
Is the block designed for roller lifters or are the lifters an aftermarket retrofit?

You can't put roller lifters on a flat tappet cam.
You can't put a hydraulic lifter on a solid cam.
You can't put solid lifters on a hydraulic cam.
You can't put used flat tappet lifters on a cam lobe that the lifter did not come off of.

You can put flat tappet lifters back on the same lobes on the cam they came off of.
You can put new lifters on a used cam.
You can put used hydraulic roller lifters on a hydraulic roller cam (new or used).
You can put used solid roller lifters on a solid roller cam (new or used).

Re: New roller lifters old cam

Thanks I'm tearing the motor down now I was just ordering parts and didn't want to order all New roller lifters without a cam if it was necessary which it is. The motor has many New parts on it so I'm not too sure what I'll find when I get to the guts.

Thanks for he help
