Manual belt tensioner?

Hi,
I'm looking for a manual belt tensioner for the 305 TBI I've got in an '88 Jag XJS....would like to delete the entire a/c bracket, compressor stock tensioner and idler if possible. Wondering if there's something out there before having to make one,
Thanks,
Seann

Re: Manual belt tensioner?

I sit here with my fingers on the home keys, the devil on one shoulder suggesting I give you both barrels for asking such a silly question. While the guy in white with the harp and halo wants me to go easy on you...

A small block Chevy, is a small block Chevy. There are so many original equipment accessory bracket setups, and an entire industry of aftermarket accessory setups, not to mention racing applications, etc. If you can't find something that would work, you're not even trying.

Probably easiest to dump the serpentine setup altogether and just run V-belt brackets.

Serp. modifications are fun and interesting because there is far more than one way to skin a cat. Keeping what you have and changing belt and tensioner pulley is an option. Sky is the limit with some creativity and the desire to try another setup.
