Whats the size of the center bolt for the crankshaft pulley off of a 1991 firebird 305 motor? Im about to take a road trip to get the serpentine belt system off of a car and need to know what tools to take with me.

Thread Size: 7/16-20 in.
Underhead Length (in): 2.250 in. Balancer bolt size
To get the belt off you need a 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar.
I could be mistaken and it might be 3/8 you can double check the spot is on the tensioner pulley.

Yeah ive been hearing 7/16 and 5/8. Just want to make sure. Also its been a while since ive worked on one of these engines, i will need a powersteering pulley tool to remove the pulley to get to a bolt that is not accessible right? Any other tips?

What are you doing timing chain ?

The pulley is held on with 3 bolts. If your trying to remove the harmonic balancer you need a balancer puller.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Crank Pulley Bolt

7/16" = the bolt size
5/8" = the size of the socket you need to turn it
