timing sticker
I want to put a timing sticker to my damper. the marks go out quite a bit further and are much easier to see. a lot of companies sell them but I cant find anything online about how to properly place them. anyone know how that works?

Re: timing sticker
Kind of a no-brainer: (makes me particularly qualified to speak to the matter, since I have no brain)
You buy the timing tape (its official name) for the OD damper you have. (measure twice, buy only once) Then you locate #1 (or #6... same thing) TDC ACCURATELY, then stick the tape to the damper with the "0" aligned to the fixed tab. (intermediate steps: open hood, clean damper with solvent, disconnect ignition, ...
)
Then all you have to worry about is, the same thing happening to your carefully installed tape, as happened to the factory's inadequacy... namely, the thing it's attached to being only loosely associated with the car, let alone the crankshaft, by a blob of spoooge, all that can happen is, the spoooge lets the outer piece slide around more/again, and thereby COMPLETELY lose its "index" to the crank position. Then your tape will be just exactly as randomly inaccurate, most likely more random at some times than others, as the factory mark. Gotta love inherent built-in total unpredictability.
