Okay so I've been daily driving my 92 RS with a 305 in it for almost a year. About a month ago, sometimes when i turn the key to start it up, there is a sort of tapping or ticking on the passenger side accompanying the starter noise. The engine still starts and the ticking immediately stops as soon as the starter stops. it used to be every now and then. Now its every time i go to start it up. Its a fairly high mileage engine with somewhere around 190k miles (odometer stopped at 188K around 3 months ago). I don't romp on it too hard knowing that its a very used engine. My dad said he thinks there is teeth off of my flywheel, but i don't know about that solely because the sound is very consistent (like there's a certain amount of time between each tick) but ya-know, i'm not the expert haha. Also i don't think its the starter because i'm pretty sure we changed it when we got the car. i'll have to ask my dad to be sure though. Any ideas of what it could be? (pic attached of car )
