Hey guys well I've been working on my 92 Z28 with a TPI 5.7 and I have been hearing a strange noise when the car is running and in drive I hear a bumping noise from what sound like from under the car on the passage side , Now I just got through putting in a new fuel tank and fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and the motor seem to run fine the fuel pressure is about close to 44 psi when primed and the fuel pressure is around 37 when running. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same noise or what it may be.

 

Is you exhaust and Cat Con secure? Did you remove that when you dropped the tank for the repair?

 

Hey Bob88GTA . Well I thought of that the car has no cat the guy who had the car before me or sometime in the past someone put shorty headers on it with single pipe going down the passage side of the car. Now I did look at the pipe while the car was running and it didn't seem lose but that doesn't mean its not bumping the floor pan the noise gets louder when you brake torque it . Am going to try to get someone to check it out while am in the car running and in drive , And also the car did have lowing springs on it which I changed out to stock ones.

 

OK, Check your trans mount. Open Hood, hold brake, put in gear, give gas....watch the engine tilt forward. Tailshaft hitting floorboard!
