Whats size tap for head bolts

Whats size tap for head bolts

I am cleaning the holes before the new heads. What size tap?

IIRC it is a 7/16-14. I would not use a tap but instead pick up a thread chase available at summit or a local tool supply. A chase is not as sharp and is easy to get to start in the threaded hole.

yep 7/16-14 i use a tap on the block but a thread chaser might be better. i use a wire brush on my grinder to clean up bolts but the sealer on head bolts is hard to get off so i use a thread chaser on them first.
