L98 engine mounts

Got my AC/Deacon engine mounts...these things are ridiculous in cost, and I was very disappointed to see “made in China” on the boxes.

Still, they look okay, hopefully they’re higher quality than the no-name parts store mounts.

But I noticed today that the driver side mount bolts on the crossmember are installed with the nuts pointed up, rather than inside the crossmember.

I’m assuming that’s not correct...any issues I need to look for when I remove the old mount?

The energy suspension poly mounts aren't real expensive.....

US made too.

True, but I’d rather avoid the issues, particularly the vibration and harshness the poly mounts tend to introduce.

Re: L98 engine mounts

Make your own with pourable urethane. Can get it in many durometers. Then it will be made in USA and tuned to your specific vibration preference.

I used Energy Suspension motor mounts in my 86 T/A, no vibrations of NVH issues that I could discern. Already got another set on the crossmember going into the project bird. I haven't noticed that many people complain after using the Energy Suspension mounts.

My experience with urethane mounts has generally been very positive. It's a V8 and as such if it's got much vibration it's probably got a misfire or uneven compression.

Re: L98 engine mounts

I have Prothane inserts in my LS swap, I don't notice any additional NVH in my car
