Oil filter relocation questions
I need to use an oil filter relocation setup
I have a stef's/B&B oil pan and 1 7/8 Ed quay headers, and the small WIX 51069 filter
I have a 421 SBC, so do I need more flow ? and use 10AN ports?
or is the 1/2" enough?

Re: Oil filter relocation questions
I would need to go check mine but 1/2" lines should be more than enough. My remote filter is mounted on the front motor plate. There is room in the OEM location but I run a System 1 filter so the relocation position makes it a lot easier to remove so I can open it up for inspection.

Re: Oil filter relocation questions
I just checked some things
The 51069 wix filter is 4.33" tall
Wix also has a slighter shorter filter (51046) at 3.8" tall
Would I lose much filtration with a slighter shorter filter?

Re: Oil filter relocation questions
only thing im going to warn you against is using typical braided hose for relocations.
In the last 15~ years I've seen a few engine failures due to the braided hose getting kinked or closed shut somehow.
Instead of that typical hose, use the high quality teflon lined hose, or similar. They make some -10 and -12 so stiff that you can set an engine on it and it will still flow oil.
