Re: 1986 camaro Failed smog.Help

It appears that the EGR is not operating and the EVAP is not functioning. Are any error codes present?

Re: 1986 camaro Failed smog.Help

No error codes present. Just picked up EGR. Anything else I have to do besides replacing the part?
No clues as where to start on evap.
Shop gave me an estimate from 500-1000$ so I want to at least try to fix egr and vacuum problems to lower cost

Re: 1986 camaro Failed smog.Help

What engine do you have? Is this the California test? The evap test is pressuring your fuel tank and clamping the hose by the charcoal canister. So you need to find your leak between your charcoal canister and fuel filler. Usually a crack in the filler neck, oring on top of fuel tank, purge vent valve leak or hose cracks between fuel tank and canister. Easy to find just takes time.

They may not function test it, but it appears that it may have failed the visual. It's a little difficult to interpret the report's descriptions.
