Hey maybe I missed it but why are you buying throttle body/injectors/ecm for a 350 tbi? If you install that on a 305 car you’re gonna have drivesbility issues.

Are you sure that that the hose is over pressurizing? Is it swelling? It should have pressure for sure. If it is swelling, be aware it could be a head gasket issue. If combustion gasses make their way into the cooling system you will have an over pressurized cooling system. For now I’d just make sure there’s no air trapped in there.

for the gas peddle issue I’d look at the linkage on the throttle body and the pivot point of the peddle and make sure there’s nothing causing the problem

The 350 stuff was intended for a future 350 swap...

Are you sure that that the hose is over pressurizing? Not quite. Is it swelling? No, i din't think it is.

How do I make sure there’s no air trapped in there?

Ah I gotcha. I did a 350 tbi before I decided to go ls.

Google “burping a sbc” or something like that and you’ll find a procedure. I’ve never had much trouble with small blocks trapping air but you can try running the engine with the rad cap off and maybe even lift the front of the vehicle while doing it.

Is your heater blowing hot like it should?

I'm going to try “burping a sbc” after work, as for the heater blowing hot like it should? Idk, didn't try it but I will it too.

Thanks.

Re: My 3rd 92RS - From The Junkyard To Roadworthy

I was getting fed up, checked the FB market and found a 92 rs in better condition than both my 92rs in CA and I messaged them. Awaiting a response I went out, started the car, rpm's settled and I took 3 laps w/out stalling or the SES light for Code 44. Came back in to find it was sold. Maybe that was the ThirdGen gods saying please work with what you've got lol

Have you checked for a vacuum leak? If it’s running lean you’re either not getting enough fuel or too much air.

I posted this in my fuel filter complication thread... might be a problem LOL. I'd guess air is getting in via those rusted to heck leaking fuel line.

Look what I found, the car hasn't been driven technically since roughly 2012. Mileage on this old crusty invoice i found is 124,632 and the dash reads 124,677 as it sits... I'm guessing this shop (in the whopping 17 minutes clocked on the invoice) couldn't help w/ the performance issues but gladly replaced a steering wheel 35 miles or less later.... junked. Now resurrected almost 7 years later, at least it idles smooth and doesn't hesitate under acceleration!

Re: My 3rd 92RS - From The Junkyard To Roadworthy

After tending to the issues in my Fuel Filter & Fuel Pump threads and putting my FPG adapter under the hood I I'm almost in shock. By simply cleaning this mini-screen, and replacing the sock filter the original pump is operational and pressure doesn't drop below 12psi. Disconnected FPG, went for a drive while logging, went GREAT, no stalling, no SES light. Today has been a HUGE accomplishment and I hope the trend continues.

Side Note: Sometime between 2012 and 2019 someone tried to get it running, the Fuel Pump I was troubleshooting has a date stamp of 03/15 so I speculate 2016 but based on mileage it must not have been a good effort.

New Info: Suffering from famine, I ran to McDonald's, maybe a 2mi trip... No issues. I guess now I can move on to tightening brakes & suspension. Wondering if I should sand and spray in my driveway or see if I can find a cheap paint job locally? There's a ton of rattle can / DIY paint job threads but I'm not sure which route to take.

Don’t rattle rattle can it. If you’re doing a cheap paint job go to tractor supply and buy “majic” brand paint. You can get paint, reducer, and hardener for under $100.

edit::: actually I just remembered summit racing sells a single stage kit for like $120 shipped I think.

I heard Macco was running a $500 special. Includes machine sanding & paint. Seemed like a better idea so I called them. Told them I'd pay up to $750 just to get it visually appealing, no show quality. Guy sends me pics of a 4th gen he just finished for $700 so I replied w/ pics of this car and the guy started acting as if they didn't want the business. After putting emphasis on the rough paint condition, I had to ask him, isn't that the reason a customer would want it machine sanded, and repainted? It's like they're misrepresenting the actual paint job being offered as the special only applies to cars in good condition. Anyone ever had a quick Maaco job? Is it worth ME fighting to give them MY business?

So this morning I pushed it to the LIMIT lol and drove it to my parents house logged the trip there, logged the trip back. 18 miles total, highway included... brakes and suspension are due for sure. The only negative was on my way back, wind caught the loose bottom molding on the drivers side door and ripped it TF off at some point but hey, now both doors are alike. It only took 3 months of weekends and early mornings with a ton of TGO support this $800 beater is

If you pay someone to paint that car it will be very expensive. No body shop is going to scuff and spray over a bad base. I didn’t understand this when I was younger but I do now. If you want a cheap presentable paint job you’re gonna have to spend some time and learn to do it yourself.

Plus, if you learn how to paint your own car you’ll have that knowledge for all your future projects.

Haven't posted here in a bit. Since I finished up my DIY Paint Job and slapped on some stock wheels I picked up cheap it's not so much an eyesore. Took it out today to pickup lunch, felt good. This weekend I'll put on my chrome valve covers, install my grant steering wheel, start undercarriage clean-up and replace a few suspension parts.

Found a decent subwoofer box w/ 2 Pioneer TSW-W303F's, couldn't pass it up for only $80. Sellers want that for a box alone! Even took the car to pick it up (mainly to ensure box fitment and to build confidence in driving this transformed beater) and it ran good the entire 45mi round trip. Also glad the sub's are "Free Air" rated w/ that rear panel open like that, but we'll see how they sound.

I was watching counting cars this morning and they provided the definition of Camaro... A small vicious animal that eats mustangs

Had those same subs (sealed box) in my '89 Camaro circa 2000. Thumped pretty good.

I'm too old for that now... lol

Re: My 3rd 92RS - From The Junkyard To Roadworthy

My level of excitement right now is beyond measure. I thought my main 92 was DONE because last season right after an Oil Change i started hearing what I believed to be engine knock and yes that was after my Front End Damage - Total Loss? thread, so it's just been parked while I tinkered with this car. Today I slap a charged battery in it and it fired right up, tapping from what sounded like the lower engine remained. I started looking around for kicks and found the dust (starter) cover tapping. Held it w/ a piece of wood, no more tapping! This also goes to show a visual inspection is in order before ANY assuming or guessing.

It's soooooooooooooo hard... to say goodbye... to a 92RS

But It's for sale...

https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/...938627831.html

If no one bites locally I'll post it here. The one thirdgen I always wanted but could never find in my price range, in a close enough driving range has been found and am picking it up tomorrow afternoon so this one has to find a new home.
