Turn Signals. Multiple issues strangely coincidental?

Yes I realize that coincidences DO occur, which is the whole point of having the word in the first place. However....

Here are my symptoms.
-Both side/fender lights aren't blinking. Other 4 work fine, as does whichever interior dash bulb is supposed to blink.
-Audible "blinking sound" is very very faint. MUCH quieter than normal, although I can hear it. This isn't a problem as much as an observation.
-Both left and right automatic cancelations have stopped working..

First thing was to replace the bulbs. Driver side started working, passenger side will still not work. Bulb ohmed out ok. Haven't tested the socket yet.
Other symptoms stayed the same.

First thing on my list is to check the auto cancellation springs in the switch, but would BOTH break simultaneously? -but if NOT, what else could cause that? Isn't it completely mechanical? even if I had a bad blinker, bulb, ground whatever....the auto cancel would still work, right? Maybe they did both break.

Any thoughts?

Clean and inspect all the bulb sockets. All of the problems I've had were related to dirty/broken/melted bulb sockets or bad bulbs.

Could an electrical issue cause a non-cancel issue?

I would say no - that has to be mechanical.

Corrosion on the socket. All bulbs work.

....as for the auto cancel... took it down to the switch. Springs are good, cam and horn button nubby thing are good....put it back together and everything works. Who knows. I know enough to take it and move on!!!

Might want to have your alternator tested. I had random issues- turn indicator on the cluster would come on and stay on, one or more idiot lights would come on and stay on. Tested the alternator and my regulator was bad. Replaced the alternator and everything works as it should...
