Strangely no traction problems, comments
Hey I am running what used to be an 82 Berlinetta, now it is sort of a hybrid of a lot of things. Mods are in the sig plus a Hughes 10" 3000 stall converter and true dual exhaust with an x pipe and bullet mufflers. My question is, my car hooks really good. Like really really well, better than any of my friends. I got to drive my friend's 74 nova, it runs 14.2's, it doest pull or launch nearly as hard as my car, but anything past half gas in his car and both tires are lit up and the back end is all over the road. Even when you are getting on it it does this. My Camaro just launches. I was curious if this is because of my "luxury" suspension that comes stock in Berlinettas. I have tons of wheel gap at the moment, and my suspension is really soft (luxurious?) so i get awesome weight transfer. Any thoughts on this?

Hey dont worry I get comments on what kind of stuff I have in my car & When I tell them Stock they give me odd looks. I am runing a almost totally stock 87 Iroc-z with the 350 & hook up 99.9% of the time. The only time when I dont hook up is when I am messing with my tire pressure. ( I lowered it a few times to see if I can hook better on street tires & Nope I run sloppy rounds. SO I stopped raised it back to stock pressure & went from there)
It can be a lot of things. My car would merely chirp the tires with the AOD when I had my MAM and injectors. I then went back to the stock MAM and injectors and it picked up alot of low end torque and would smoke the tires off the line. Your car may be lacking some low end torque and sometimes this is not good. My car would only pull a 2.1 60' when it didn't spin the tires, and it would do no better, no matter how much traction it had. Too much traction especially in an auto can hurt the launch by bogging the motor keeping it out of it's powerband and with steep first gears, like most autos, it takes a little bit to get back in the RPMs. This is just what happened to me to give you an idea of the different things that can cause the difference in launch!

Hey, maybe you luck out and it hooks great and you are pulling good 60's. I hope so, but all I can suggest is to expect the worst and pray for the best!
