Dynoed my 334 Stroker

Dynoed my engine today. I put a dual plane manifold and carb on it for the engine Dyno. When it goes in the car I will have it on the chassis Dyno to tune it with the TPI.
This engine is in a 1989 Five speed Blue Iroc. Numbers matching so I kept the 305. It also has to pass California Smog. So it is a very mild build. 9.2 to 1 Crane smog roller cam 214 220 112 440 460 lift Trickflow 175 heads. I have a edelbrock lower and SLP runners for the car. I thought I would share these numbers.

Seems about right for the mild cam. Unfortunately i think its gonna drop a good deal with tpi but it should still be fun

I really don't it will drop as much as most people believe and the torque numbers should swell in the midrange. The lower intake/SLP runner combintation should be strong until 5,500 on that engine.

Yep that's also my guess. I will have it on the chassis dyno at Westech The same place that ran it on the engine dyno. These guys are Super sharp so they will also have a good idea about the tq gain and power loss. Also Richard Holdener Hot Rod Magazine editor was there and has done a TON of testing years back on TPI stuff. He said over a Stock TPI setup, it would loose about 35 HP. This car is going to be a fun driver for me. If it ever goes to the track and runs mid 13s I will be super happy. I think that's a very easy goal. with the five speed gearing and TPI midrange torque.

Re: Dynoed my 334 Stroker

I would have guessed nearer 320’s whp if it was chassis dyno’d as it sits currently at 384 flywheel thru a 5 spd. If that breaks 300 whp with a tpi i would be impressed. I feel like it would be 280’s-290’s at best

either way thats def low 13’s potential and 12’s if it could 60 ft like a stalled auto car

It whould have no problem going over 300 with the Edelbrock base and SLP runners. Especially considering it should be near 330 at the wheels the way it was on the engine dyno.

The cammed L30 305 Vortec n my Tahoe made 280 rwhp and 300 rwtq through a 4L60E in 2nd gear with the converter locked.

Wow, those numbers look great...very level torque though the rpm range. Can't wait to see how this works out in the car.
