on a motor swap,, do i need to worry bout the oil pan hitting the axel?? engine is a 355 from a 1972 corvette, its going in a 84 TA. will i run into clearance issues?

 

u may run into a problem with the y pipe hitting the pan, try to find out before installing its a bitch to have to pull it again.

 

will the one on the 305 work on that??,,,how can i check to see if it will be fine, good old tape measure anda pencile?

 

You might have a problem if you don't have enough reach with the puller going in from the front.

That was the only problem I had, when installing a 350 w/7 quart kickout pan, and tranny on the engine.

I know now to leave a little more chain from hook to the puller.

Just lower down in there, and start going around taking a looksee. Just analyze from there.



You see that I don't have enough chain at the top. This install was a turd !!! But It cleared the crossmember, after some patience.
