Are all fuel pump strainers created equal? I'm in the mists of re-vamping my entire fuel system in my 91 Firebird and I'm curious as to opinions on fuel pump strainers. Is there any benefit to using the standard strainer that comes with most replacement fuel pump kits, a AC Delco Factory type replacment or an aftermarket type like the Quantum fuel pump strainer?
You want the Delco or Delphi strainer that's twice as long. AKA the 1LE strainer. It was standard on all later thirdgens, but most of the generics are the shorter early version.
TS18 is the original style. TS44 is the 4th gen part that is functionally the same and generally is listed as the modern replacement. Any of the shorter strainers will technically function, but they're a downgrade from the original.
