Cable location

Hey guys!

Trying to put my car back together after being apart for so many years.... I have an automatic 1991 Z28 convertible. I have this cable and im not sure where it goes. Ive checked my OEM manual and have no idea what its for. I basically had the entire vehicle stripped as I painted the entire underside of vehicle so it could be for anything. I also swapped the rear drum brakes to disc brakes. Looking for any ideas PLEASE!

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Cable location

That looks something like part of a TV (throttle valve) cable. If so, goes from the throttle linkage, to a certain place on the transmission.

Might also be the one that goes from the transmission to the steering column, that controls the key removal function (only lets you remove it in Park). Hard to tell for sure.

Either way, transmission related.

Re: Cable location

Not impossible... I suppose it could also be an extra, where something happened like somebody had replaced one in the car before you got it, and just left the old one...

Re: Cable location

Are you sure it's not a throttle cable for a weedeater or lawn mower or motor bike? Brake cable from a bicycle? That doesn't look like anything on a thirdgen.
