1983 Father and son project Progress

Just wanted to share a couple of pics of our project. I picked up this 1983 Camaro for my son to work on. He is 17 and is a good kid. He always wanted a 3rd gen. We picked up this car from an older man who was trying to restore it, but it sat for the last year after he lost interest in it. We bought it, got it home and back tracked allot of his work, we just have a different standard on how we want things done. The car was originally a 305 carb 5 speed. It was converted over to a 355, with a 700R4. The motor is a 1976 4 bolt main block, rebuilt with a mild cam, Edelbrock Performer intake ( which was cracked in the coolant passage so I took it off and welded it up) and supposedly larger valves. ( his supplied details/specs are very limited) I have traced the headers to being Flowtech, which I read are not the best, but will do for now. It needs an exhaust system next, which I will be looking for help with.
We are making progress and already have received allot of help from the members here, so thanks to all!
We are at the point where the mechanical part is good to go. Next up now is to start the body work.

A quick pic of the motor. We got it fired up and running good. I will sand down the engine bay and repaint it.

You definitely have a different standard than I do, that's a nice looking batch of work you're doing there. I never had anything that cool when I was a kid, neat that you're working on it. Also should be more than enough power to get a 17YO into trouble.

You have the now impossible to find non-AC power steering bracket. Don't ever misplace it or get rid of it. It's valuable $$$.
