Laboring idle
If I don't allow my car to warm up the idle labors to keep it running when I put it in gear. Otherwise it runs fine. If I let it run for about 10 min before driving it's fine with a normal idle. I haven't pulled engine codes yet. My " guess" is a fuel pump. Who knows at this point.

Re: Laboring idle
Fuel pump wouldn't be on my list of things. I'd look at vacuum leaks and test the coolant temperature sensor first. Then go from there.

Re: Laboring idle
I ran out and poked around. the vacuum line on the map sensor in broken. im not even sure where the other end of that hose is. I plugged it and the problem was corrected. I will do a little research and replace that vacuum line and it should be good to go.. honestly all the vacuum line in this car are brittle. I need to make a project out of replacing all the vacuum lines. anyone know where a good diagram for a 305 tbi vacuum system is?

I know where one is. On these boards. Search and done.

Re: Laboring idle
This was my major culprit, after I installed a new vacuum canister due to a broken vacuum line nipple on the canister itself.

replaced the vacuum hose. seems to have corrected the issue. I didn't drive just put it in gear in the driveway. seems fine though.

Re: Laboring idle
I`ve driven the car to the gym the last two mornings. the vacuum leak seems to have been the issue. its running much better now. the car no longer tries to die at a stop. the idle has never been great and I noticed that the tach needle still moves a tiny bit at idle. that means I probably have another vacuum leak somewhere. I will start searching for it.
