belt cracked, I search the good ref product

Hello, my belt played dancing and is cracked of : A/C, water pump, power steering and motor

I live in France and it is not easy to find this, the solution with rockauto is OK but I am not really sure if it is the good product....

If I mesure the old belt and it is a little smaller perhaps 0,3 inch than rockauto products ( ACdelco 15560 or gates 7560.....) This product is ok ?

my car : pontiac trans am GTA 1987 TPI 5,7L

Re: belt cracked, I search the good ref product

I have a 1985 5.0 TPI with this routing that uses the Gates 7560 for this AC, water pump, power steering, and crankshaft belt. I am currently using that 7560 purchased from Rock Auto without a problem.
I did go back to one of my favorite references for a check at the attached link. This is the original GM parts manual.
http://www.gmpartswiki.com/getpage?pageid=37807
It does show a different belt between the two applications in the parts manual. My 1985 uses a "3BF" 14066274 that is listed as a 56 inch belt, and the 1987 5.7 lists a 'GW" 9433764 as a 55.5 inch that converts to a Gates 7555 belt, based on the Rock Auto part listing.
I suspect that either belt would work, but GM may have found that a 0.5 inch shorter belt gave better adjustment range. In looking at your picture, it appears that you have the adjustment range to be able to use the longer 7560 belt.
I hope that helps.

Looks like you have the correct belt. Both Gates and AC delco make good belts. Good chance they're made in the same factory, so neither are a bad choice.

I have used Dayco and Bando in other applications and I believe they are good quality. I don't have experience with drive rite.

Dayco makes a lot of belts under various brands. The Dayco part number is usually printed on the belt and that part number contains the length of the belt in units of "mm". Just look for a belt of that length and it will fit.

For example, 6PK2005 is the main drive belt for a 2000 Camaro 5.7L engine. The part number tells you it is a 6 rib serpentine with 2005 mm length. You can probably find your p/n using this search tool, http://www.daycoproducts.com/parts?category_id=1084
