Elgin is one of those old-line parts mfr/vendors that's been around since the dawn of time. Kind of like Perfect Circle. They're a nice dependable, generic, innovation-free copier of basic generic designs. Reliable and unexceptional. As good "quality" as most others. Don't expect to get "the best" profile for whatever it is you're looking for though; that's not what they're about.

Post the specs of the specific one you're considering, along with the application (induction system, car weight, gears, converter, and above all the honest PURPOSE), and we can comment on whether it's right FOR YOU.
