Detonation sensor and cooling fan switch wiring

I put my 1987 Camaro 5.0 TPI w/automatic transmission back together.

Im having trouble with the sensor pigtails.

My Haynes manual lists the detonation sensor as DK Blue and Austin thirdgen lists it as White.

I have grounded both with key on engine off and cooling fans don't come on.

I don't have DK Blue, looks black but could be discoloration. If I ground the BLK wiring I hear a really clicking by the battery. If I ground the White, nothing.

Re: Detonation sensor and cooling fan switch wiring

I got it figured out. I didn't have the cooling fan relay power plugged in near the battery. Once I did that and grounded the plugs the DK Blue made the secondary fan come on. Knock sensor was the White wire.

Yeah I was going to suggest checking the relay because it really did sound like the fan relay.
