Long P/S line

Does anyone know why there is such a long P/S on the Camaro? I don’ recall seeing it on other Chevy’s. It runS from the gear box down along the bottom of the radiator, above the gear box and to the pump. The reason I ask is the long lines get is the way of the huge summit radiator. I can fab new one but figured I ask, why the length. Maybe pressure regulation.

Re: Long P/S line

It’s for cooling. Many cars use this design.
