ECM 88 Camaro 2.8L V6

I have a bad ecm in my 88 camaro 2.8L V6
ECM SERV. NO. 1227302
867221 M723017597
16087221

I'm trying to find an ecm that would replace mine.

from my understanding this below should fit.
Can anyone help me verify if it matches the one I have?
or help me know what I need to look for in replacing mine... any help appreciated.

Re: ECM 88 Camaro 2.8L V6

ECMs don't just "go bad" all that often. Rather rarely in fact.

Note that I am NOT saying "your ECM is fine"; NOT saying "you don't need an ECM"; NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT. Only, it's pretty low on the list of the usual suspects. If it's missing, or caught fire, maybe... pretty seldom otherwise.

What is your car doing that makes you think it needs an ECM? Might be best to start with getting some help with whatever symptoms you may be enjoying. And no, "mechanic said it needs one" isn't really good enough.

thanks,
the fault code says bad ECM.
The car had been sitting for 7 years (heat and cold weather) and we finally got it stated once we replaced the fuel injectors, plugs, and fuel pump.
it runs but needs some more care.

I'll look more at the wiring/ground to see if I can find something loose.
I was hopeful I did not need a new ECM but was not sure since I have not found anything yet to fix the ECM from faulting to a code that says bad ECM.

thanks again.

Probably doesn't need a new ECM, from that description. Which is a good thing. Sounds to me like you'd spend a whole shipload of money on something useless, and at best, still be right where you are now; or worse, with even more problems.

What code is this? (the actual number, not the "interpretation") In what way does it not run right or could be made to run better?
