hello all, I’m having an issue I can’t figure out. New cap rotor wires, new filters, new gas tank and pump and new carb. Car runs fine around town, but when I step on it, it stutters and has to catch up and feels like it’s misfiring until it fixes it and then revs high and goes normal. The timing is just ear timed and she always starts fine and turns off fine without dieseling. Any ideas?

 

New carb - Was the jetting adjusted for the engine/head/cam combination, or was it simply bolted onto the intake with fingers crossed that it's close enough? Depending on the carb, there are potentially multiple adjustments, not just idle mixture and speed.

 

Just bolted on, if I slowly bring her up to high speed I have no issue. It’s when i give her WOT from a dead stop or a slow rolling start. I floor it an she plays catch up it seems.
