My last login was in 2014, the year i started my business. In the last 7 years what's the one part or mod that has came out that is an absolute must? pulling my 84 out of the garage and sending it to a shop next Monday, haven't touched it in 7 years.

I hate to even say it, but LS engine.
Just not for me.
The second would be aftermarket carb-style fuel injection, like Holley.

If you are talking about actual 3 gen innovation, its either TPI or tying the transmission to the rear end.

Well, the newest updates/upgrades that are easily available now are brakes, 3D printed items, and some suspension parts. Modern brakes have come a long way in the US market. With Big Brake upgrade coming out with their kits it's super easy to do. I would go with the 4 piston "SS" Camaro/CTS-V Brembos. Honestly, it's super cheap. The biggest issue is wheel options. Wheels are super expensive. 17s in the modern world are what 16s were 20 years ago. Hawks and everyone else besides the G-Body guys are behind on this. 17s are primitive now. There are a lot of epic 3D parts out there. Double din radio bezels, Cup holders, etc. Definitely check out what's out there. Some of what was cutting edge 5-10 years ago are now surpassed thanks to places like Detroit speed. Places like founders and even UMI now have copies of designs from different companies that are super cheap. Founders have always been cheap but High quality. With that said don't make the mistakes I did. Buy once cry once.

Junkyard LS Swaps have really taken off
BigBrakeUpgrade makes upgrading the front brakes trivial.
18" Wheel options are pretty nice.

Re: best third gen innovation?
Of course one upgrade always means another. Years ago, doing a typical SBC buildup or swap was common. With the LS platform taking over the industry, a better engine with a lot more potential is always a good choice however more power means better transmission and diff. It never ends.
My daily driver is a 2019 F150 with a 2.7L TT. Fuel mileage is great for a pickup truck and HP/TQ from this engine is better than my old 91 454SS pickup truck which used more than twice the amount of fuel.
An LS engine with a good EFI system will outperform the old SBC engine and have much better street manners. 6.0L is nice but even a 4.8 or 5.3L will run circles around a 350 SBC. There's also old school thinking where a carb and simple HEI ignition system will run forever and is a lot easier to fix. Just depends what route you want to go.

I'd say pretty much everything Detroit Speed did to their test mule IROC...
