What is this Part & Purpose - in picture

1984 Trans AM 5.0 v8 Canada edition -
This part is located at the back of the intake manifold. I am mostly certain that it opens & closes, depending on the temperature of the manifold, to control intake manifold vacuum to the two attached vacuum hoses. One hose is attached to the cruise control hardware & the other is routed for the cowl induction hardware. Both hoses appear to have no other source for vacuum.
What is the name of this part?
In a couple of months I will be removing the intake manifold to repaint. That is when I will remove this part & check how it functions. It should have holes for vacuum output.
Thoughts..

Picture #1 is view from driver's side. Picture #2 is from passenger side.

Agreed. Does not look like any TVS I've ever seen. And that's a fairly common spot for a vacuum tee.

there's only vacuum where it screws in, no source of heat other than ambient and conductive.
