lifters hitting the block

i pulled the TPI off a 434 bowtie block. Going with a new solid roller cam and lifters but the lifters are now hitting the block..
Have any of you guys had to mill the block to make this setup work?
(I cant get my money back on the lifters i have so i dont want to spend another $800 on longer lifters if i can help it.)

I have been told milling the block is pretty standard so Im just checking to see if anyone has done this and had any issues

Thanks
Terry

Re: lifters hitting the block

Sounds like you have the wrong lifters.

They make taller link-bar lifters for that setup. (block set up for factory roller system, link bar type substituted in)

I WOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER mill the block, no matter what. It's irreversible. The mistake of buying the wrong lifters can be reversed; cutting metal off your block cannot.
