SBC ARP Oil Pump Stud Torque Spec
SBC ARP Oil Pump Stud Torque Spec
I can't seem to find the torque spec for the ARP 230-7002 Oil Pump Stud for a SBC.
Their site says instructions for this ... are not online call ....
I have not been able to get through their IVR terminal hold this week.
Anybody know what it should be for this one?
I'm seeing crazy ranges of different specs for other ARP SBC Oil Pump Studs, different part numbers so I don't want to guess.
Dart SHP SBC 4 bolt main, splayed caps, blind oil pump theaded hole in rear main cap.
thanks in advance.

Re: SBC ARP Oil Pump Stud Torque Spec
From a Google search: Helpful? Install the stud finger tight only. Lube the threads and both sides of the washer with arp lube or 30 weight oil. Torque nut to 65 ft lbs with the arp lube or 70 - 80 ft lbs with the 30 weight oil.

Re: SBC ARP Oil Pump Stud Torque Spec
But you have a DART block. You had better call them back.
Re: SBC ARP Oil Pump Stud Torque Spec
I told them what I had, they said their torque reccomendations would only be different IF I was using a aluminum block, main caps or a oil pump with a aluminum housing and the 230-7002 Oil Pump Stud Kit. That seemed to be the focus of their questions... what kit, what combination of aluminum and or cast iron. I already have & used the ARP Ultra Torque Lube on other studs, so I did not ask for any torque specs when not using their lube.
Internet seemed to show a range of 50 to 90 foot pounds for ARP Oil Pump Studs for SBC's with same threads etc. And nothing for my exact kit.
Peace.
