85 Iroc Z 305 TPI
Hello everyone, new member, first post. I have a 1985 Iroc Z I bought from the original owner. Car had sat in a barn for 20 years. I changed the plugs, changed the oil, dropped the fuel tank, replaced the tank, the sender and the pump and filter. The fuel pump relay was also replaced. The car will start and run for a few seconds and die out. The fuel pressure to the rail reads 42 psi but bleeds off within several seconds or so. I used vice grips to clamp off the main fuel line, pressure still bled off. I then clamped the return line and by the time I was able to clamp it the pressure had already dropped to about 18-20psi but once clamped it maintained. I'm assuming the problem is the pressure regulator, but also looking for insight. Thank you in advance

Replace fpr diaphragm, injectors are probably toast so I'd install a fresh set at the same time. Check egr valve for proper operation while you're in there. You could ohm the injectors to see if they're electrically capable of functioning.

I will definitely check into checking the injectors. Would an egr cause it not to run? I figured it would just cause it to run rough
