1988 Firebird dies aftery turning over on warm start unless I give it gas

As the title says, my car dies after turning over on a warm start unless I give it gas. A warm start for my car is if I've been driving it for roughly 30 mins straight and then park somewhere (to do shopping for example) and then hop back in the car to go home. It takes about 3 hours for it to cool to the point where I dont need to give it gas to turn over properly. My car is fuel injected and automatic if that makes a difference. Any ideas what might cause this or how to diagnose?

Thanks in advance!

Could be injectors. Try ohming them cold, then warm and see if they change.

I also vote for leaking injectors. I had this same problem. They are leaking down after a hot engine shutdown, and putting extra fuel into the cylinders. Put a gage on the fuel rail, and see how fast it bleeds down, that will give your answer.

So it turns over but won't fire unless you give it gas? Next time you know it's not going to want to start. Put the gas all the way to the floor, then try and start the car. If it fires quicker, then you have leaking fuel injectors or FPR. I had an issue where it would take 2-3 long cranks to fire after sitting. It would start much faster if I put the ECM in flood mode (gas to the floor when cranking). Turned out 2 of my 8 injectors were leaking when the car was off.

It fully starts up, and then the rpm drops to 0 and the engine shuts off or something. Planning on bringing it to a shop in the near future for unrelated stuff anyways amd was gonna get them to check this issue out as well, but the less I have to pay for, the better lol

The general consensus seems to be fuel injector related so I'll definitely look into everything mentioned here.

It could be fuel leaking. It could be a minimum air position that is misadjusted, dirty throttle body, and related idle air problems.
