Engine knocking/rattling
Hey everyone! I’ve recently developed a rattle/knocking at what seems the bottom of the engine. It started while I was driving the backroads and I immediately pulled over and got it towed home. The car is holding good oil pressure and is idling fine. I pulled the dipstick and the oil was about a half inch low.
Here’s a video of the noise:

Just seeing if this sounds familiar to anyone? I’m guessing it is going to need a rebuild which I don’t have the funds for, so praying it’s not that catastrophic of an issue.
Thanks

Re: Engine knocking/rattling
Sounds like bottom end problem but check your torque converter bolts, make sure nothing is loose down there.

Everything looks okay on the outside.
I changed the oil and the noise has toned down dramatically. Oil pressure is better. Would that be a good sign that it is a bottom end issue?

Yeah, that pretty much makes it clear. If nothing external is contacting anything else then there's only one place it can be and they don't get better without some serious intervention
