Need of An original engine bay.
Need of An original engine bay.
I've been building a 87 GTA and am having some.troubles with a couple.of connections. First I need to see the Map pressure connector for the color of the wires.. My connector seems to be missing. I.bought a new connector but I don't know which wires they are. Then I need to.see.the eye solenoid and its connector. I bought a new egg soleniod... But don't know.what the connector looks like or what color the wires are. Any help.would be greatly appreciated
Re: Need of An original engine bay.
A guess would be "EGR" solenoid, but that doesn't answer the question of the "eye" solenoid. The wonders of portable phones being used as computers...

It doesn't use a MAP sensor? a MAP sensor was included in the pile of stuff I got with the car. I bought someone else's project.i bought a new MAS. and it fits
Re: Need of An original engine bay.
@J.C. Denton is correct. TPIs did not get a MAP sensor until the speed-density system was implemented. 1987 used a MAF sensor to measure airflow instead of calculating it from other inputs.
The EGR solenoid harness/connector is specific to the 1987/1989 model years due to pin configuration. 1985/1986 connectors are different. The original wire colors for that connector are gray and pink/black (sensor ground).
