Car turns over.... dies quickly
Ok, here's the lowdown. I just put an LT1 manifold on my L98 block. I had to change distributors because the pre-87 setup is too big. So now I have a 87 distributor setup with a remote coil. So when we crank the car it turns over then dies quickly. Is my timing to far advanced? retarded? distributor a tooth off? Also, does the remote coil need to be grounded?

The MAF is fine, you don't even need the MAF to run the car. When the MAF dies it the car just stumbles alot, throws a code 33 and gets crappy gas mileage. I really think this is timing, but I don't know where to start. Any one have any clues?
I replied to your post on the TPI board, but it definitly sounds like timing to me. The only other problem I've had like that was in using an aftermarket ignition box that wasn't compatible with the stock module.Anyway check my other reply.
