Valve stem seals lt4 hotcam.

What valve stem seals for beehive springs and 787 retainers on a vortec head? Installed the parts but left the stock seals in there. I'm burning oil in a few cylinders now. Use to burn only on one but now a few. Replaced intake gaskets during 24x swap thinking it would cure the issue. Used fel pro intake gasket. Was, thinking maybe that is the cause but leaning towards seals. What are symptons of a cracked vortec head. Starting to think my engine toast. Or maybe just a head.. Before only cyl 2 would burn oil. Now all cylinders on bank 2 have signs of oil burning or not really sure what I'm looking at. Good thing my o2 is located on the good bank .1357 all look good.. One has some white crust build up. What are your thoughts?.

Stock ones are good in my opinion, pretty much same design/type as a lot of aftermarket.

That's a lot of deposit on that one plug, especially relative to the condition of the others. You'd do well to perform a leak-down test on all cylinders before attempting to diagnose the problem.

Thanks man yeah it got bad. I'm thinking the coils may have something to do with it. I have a good sense of smell and the other day I Wot and got this really hot smell Not sure how to explain but it smelled hot. Been tuning my afr and I managed to make it leaner at idle and cruise, Still doesn't explain the heavy deposits. Before the 24x swap it only burned on cyl 2. I Have a general question. When laying the manifold on the block, then bolting it down, it seems there is a wider gap on pass side then on the driver side seems odd. I used the fel pro 1255 but these did not have tabs to hold them in place. These might be the problem hmm.

If the intake gasket on the pass side (even, 2468) did not seal at the bottom, then most likely all of those cylinders are pulling in oil from the lifter valley.
A cracked head usually leaks coolant into the oil (milkshakes).

Finally fixed the smoking issue. So turned out you were right NoEmmissions84TA, that gasket sat way off and was sucking in oil on that whole bank. I cheaped out on the intake gaskets with the cheaper fel pro ones without the tabs that position the gasket properly. Replaced them with the proper fel pro metal ones and was back to only smoking on cyl 2. So went ahead and removed the springs on that cyl to take a look at the stem seals. Both seals were ripped . Replaced them with fel pro ones and now I can let the engine idle without having to put a gas mask on. No more smoke . Also added a catch can and can't believe how much oil gets into the engine through the pcv.

FWIW, I use the FelPro 1255's but I glue them in place on the heads before I drop the intake on. Gasgacinch is a wonder glue. I wasn't quite so thrilled when I had to remove it though.
