19210723 gm cam

If anyone has ever used the gm cam 19210723 please let me know how street friendly it is for a daily driver in a 350 auto with a Holley stealth ram. It is 509-528 lift and @50 222-230 with 112 lobe center. If it will idle decent and make a good in town cam not a lot wilder than a ZZ4 cam I’m good. Please let me know your experience with it. My convertible is a 350 with fast burns flat tops automatic with 3.27 gears and a small converter.

Just get a Summit 8802. You will not notice a difference and the Summit cam is made in the USA for 1/2 the price.

Nothing I’m putting this motor together in a few weeks and I need a daily driven cam that still has some kick and I forgot I bought this cam years ago and just found it. It’s a 350 with fast burns Holley stealth ram small converter 3.27 gears but it’s going to be a daily driver cruiser not a hot rod. Thought about the ZZ4 cam but it’s very small but probably close to what I need

If you already own it, it runs well. It will need some tuning though.

It'll have a noticeable idle to it... not sure if you're looking for a smooth, stockish feel to the idle quality or not. Also, what are your smog laws like?

Re: 19210723 gm cam

Smog is not a problem and just need the idle to be close to stock rpm. The chop is ok just as long as it’s not idling above 800rpm or something crazy since it will be a daily driver and have to be street friendly but be a little fun out on the open road. I thought it would be close to the lt4 hot cam since the numbers are very close but I’ve never had a lt4 hot cam and I don’t know how friendly that cam is or how hard to tune.

Re: 19210723 gm cam

I'm not sure that cam will idle nicely below 800 rpm in gear. Keep in mind the ZZ4 cam is only 208 @.050... Probably looking at ~12 inHg vacuum, probably at the bottom end of the range for decent power brake vacuum as well.

You also said "small converter"... what does that mean?

But overall, with the short runner Stealth Ram, that set up is going to like some decent spark advance. So probably look at the ANHT bin (90-92 Corvette Automatic). Assuming you're <10:1 compression and have access to decent octane fuel.

I idle 750 rpm in gear on them all the time. About 800-850 in Park/Neutral. The 383 in my Express van has a 218/228 on a 108 LSA currently. It will idle down to 400 rpm perfectly well albeit it is not exactly happy. 650 rpm it is very comfortable though. I idle it a bit higher at like 775 in drive though to make the 2,800 rpm converter feel more stock like and to mask the cam more.
