Cam Recomendaton Ramjet 350
I was wondering if anyone here with a ramjet 350 has an upgraded cam and what were their experiences. I realize the computer would need to be reprogrammed. Thanks in advance.

I didn't personally run that intake (or complete system) but I hear the ZZ4 type cam that came with the system is easily replaced with the LT4 Hot Cam and it really runs well.
Does that ram jet intake fit under your hood?

IIRC, the cam that came with the Ram Jet is not the ZZ4 cam but #14097395. Try the Google. It's pretty tame.

Re: Cam Recomendaton Ramjet 350
I heard it was pretty tame is why I was wondering. On a good note that cam delivers 375 ft pound torque at only 2000 rpm which is very cool since it's not a high revving engine. So in that respect probably better to stay stock.

An L98 cam is bigger than that.

Re: Cam Recomendaton Ramjet 350
Yes, that cam is modest. Show me a stock L98 that does 350 TQ from 1600-5200 RPM. Does a great job of showing the value of a matched package. Threr's a guy in the Fiero community who tried a ZZ4 cam in a RJ350, only did 287 RWHP through a manual trans using Speedway's Tru-Ram cast shorty headers. If you're wanting screaming top-end, you're starting with a way over-priced crate engine you don't want. The 9.4:1 SCR is a bit low for any really healthy cam, especially if you're at any elevation. And that intake manifold doesn't flow all that well. If you have the RJ and must improve it, start with getting the heads shaved 0.030", and bolt them back on with FelPro 1094s to get closer to 10:1. For stock Vortecs, use this cam: http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=2007&gid=281 The better plan is to leave the RJ alone and add boost to up the HP.
